Ability. In short, this is what we’re capable of doing. Mix it with the right attitude, and we become capable of doing almost anything. Take it away, and it can seem as if everything is impossible.

If we had a crystal ball we would not have to worry about losing our natural abilities. We could see that accident coming and avoid it. We might see the consequences of our lifestyle choices and prevent sickness by making better choices earlier.

We’ve all had close calls, and most of us have had accidents or suffered sickness that have had big consequences. Many of us are lucky, but we all know someone who didn’t have the same good fortune.

We sit down with hundreds of people every year and listen to the stories that have changed their lives. A lot of these people’s circumstances were unavoidable, but I find it continuously astounding that most of these accidents and sicknesses were preventable. So many of these people freely admit that they took stupid risks too often, and that their choices caught up to them. So many of these people had no idea of what they were actually risking until it was too late.

Be safe. Stay fit. Be moderate. Plan for the what-if’s…

There are lots of good insurance advisors out there; we are only some of many. The important thing is that you have a solid plan in place… a plan that you understand and trust.

Do you trust the government, workers comp, or your group insurance to have your back? Do you know exactly how each of these disability systems work for you? If not, find a good insurance advisor who is well-versed in these systems – any decent agent will be happy for the opportunity to spread awareness, and will likely have a good recommendation for you.

If you live in BC or Alberta, we’re extremely well versed in our local disability income systems. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about how these systems are helping you!
